§ 4 Cookies
In addition to the data specified in § 2 of this data protection declaration, cookies will be stored on your device (desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone, TV, etc.) when you use our website. Cookies are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device when you visit our site. Information is stored in the cookie that is related to the specific device used and your browser. This does not mean that we thereby receive immediate knowledge of your identity. In addition, cookies cannot run programs or transmit viruses to your computer. They are designed to make the Internet more user-friendly and effective overall.
The following data and information is stored in the cookies:
- Log-in information
- Language settings
- Search terms entered
- Information about the number of visits to our website and the use of individual functions of our website.
Our website uses the following types of cookies:
(1) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. These include session cookies in particular. These store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to the shared session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website.
(2) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which can vary depending on the cookie. We use such cookies to statistically record the use of our website and to optimize our offering. The cookies enable us to automatically recognise that you have already visited us when you visit our site again.
The data processed by cookies is required for the purposes mentioned to protect our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Letter f GDPR.
You can configure your browser settings according to your wishes at any time and, for example, refuse to accept third-party cookies or all cookies. We would like to point out that by rejecting cookies you may not be able to use all the functions of this website.
§ 5 Social Media
Integration of YouTube videos
We have integrated YouTube videos into our online offering, which are stored on YouTube (video service from "Google") and can be played directly from our website.
By visiting the website, YouTube receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page or subpage of our website. In addition, the data specified under § 2 of this data protection declaration (see log files) is transmitted. This occurs regardless of whether YouTube (or Google) provides you with a user account through which you are logged in, or whether no user account exists. If you are logged in to YouTube, your data will be assigned directly to your account. If you do not want your YouTube profile to be assigned, you must log out of your Google user account before activating it, i.e. before using the video (e.g. by clicking the "Play button" or using other controls on the video). YouTube stores your data as user profiles and uses them for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or tailoring its website to your needs. Such an evaluation is carried out in particular to provide needs-based advertising by the provider and, for example, to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. The provider will carry out an evaluation even if you do not have a Google user account or are not logged in. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, whereby you must contact YouTube (Google) to exercise your right of objection.
Further information regarding the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by YouTube can be found in the provider's privacy policy. There you will also find further information about your rights and setting options for protecting your privacy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy. Google also processes your personal data in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.
Other social media plug-ins and links to social media websites
We currently do not use any other social media plug-ins on our website other than the plug-ins mentioned. However, we expressly reserve the right to integrate other plug-ins and services into our online offering to protect our legitimate interests and the interests of third parties in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR without further notice. We will of course inform you in this privacy policy about the purpose and scope of any associated processing of personal data.
We would also like to point out that we provide external links to social media services that may be linked to our profiles. This enables you to contact us, find out about us or follow us via other channels outside of our online offering. We have no influence on the data collected and data processing procedures of these services and any user accounts that these services make available to you, nor are we aware of the full extent of the data collection, the purposes of the processing or the storage periods. We also have no information on the deletion of the data collected by these providers. You can find further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and its processing by social media services in the privacy policies provided by these providers. There you will also find further information on your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy.
§ 6 Storage and duration
Unless specifically stated, we only store personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes pursued.
In some cases, the legislature provides for the retention of personal data, for example in tax or commercial law. In these cases, we will only continue to store the data for these legal purposes, but will not process it in any other way and will delete it after the statutory retention period has expired.
§ 7 Data security
We make every effort to ensure the security of your data within the framework of applicable data protection laws and technical possibilities.
Your personal data is transmitted using encrypted data. We use SSL/TLS encryption (Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security), but we would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
To protect your data, we maintain technical and organizational security measures in accordance with Art. 32 GDPR, which we continually adapt to the state of the art. We also do not guarantee that our offer will be available at certain times. Disruptions, interruptions or failures cannot be ruled out. The servers we use are regularly and carefully backed up.
§ 8 Rights of the data subject
Your rights as a data subject
You have the following rights with regard to the personal data concerning you:
- Right to information (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Right to object
If we base the processing of your personal data on the pursuit of legitimate interests (Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR), you can object to the processing. If you exercise such an objection, we ask you to explain the reasons why we should not process your personal data as we do. If your objection is justified, we will examine the situation and will either stop or adapt the data processing or show you our compelling legitimate reasons on the basis of which we continue the processing.
Of course, you can object to the processing of your personal data for advertising and data analysis purposes at any time.
You can inform us of your objection using the contact details provided in the imprint.
Revocation
You have the right to revoke your consent to us at any time (Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR). This means that we may no longer continue the data processing based on this consent in the future.
Complaint
You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged violation, if you believe that the processing of personal data concerning you is unlawful.
§ 9 Use of our contact details
The use of the contact details published in the imprint or comparable information such as postal addresses, telephone and fax numbers and email addresses by third parties to send information that has not been expressly requested is not permitted. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action against senders of so-called spam emails in the event of violations of this prohibition.
