Test bench based development and engine calibration service
Tuning of engines
Engine calibration is an art. OEM's spend 1000 of hours for an optimal engine system calibration to provide the best compromise for engine response, durability, emission legitity and safety. Calibrating an race engine in less then 50 h is a challenge, in less then 25 h is art as our standard is highest possible quality, performance and safety. We know where the significant leverarms in the engine control are and how to meet our standard efficiently.
We are satisfied when you sit in your car and feel the power control is supporting at best your driving style and let you focus in optimizing your laptimes without thinking about the power plant. For that we do following:
- we analyze your engine setup and engine system logs of application-typical load profiles
- implement your engine setup in our simulation environment to see the harmonization of sub systems e.g. alternation of load parts
- we measure the health status of your engine (compression test, leakdown test) and sensor response
- we go through the sensor list with you and recommend additional sensors for better health and safety status check in future and during the tuning
- we clarify the process of engine calibration with you as well as we clarify your demand regarding drivestyle and compare this with the logged data and we discuss possible improvements and realization within the calibration
- when the specification of the calibration project is completed we start the tuning process
- a tune is finished by achieving the agreed project aims
Quite often customers report about measureable improved laptimes after the engine calibration not only because the engine has an improved power curve, but the engine is so responsive and folows much better your load and engine speed change whish, so that they can concentrate on the track with an much higher confidence. Calibrating a system right is sometimes all what is needed. Let us discuss your wish and ideas, we will support you to realize it.
